October 30th, 2005The pygmy people filed a complaint against the World Bank, compromising their safety and their ingenious homelands (Congo), and gained recognition from the World Bank.
May 2010Uganda's first Batwa Pygmy, Alice Nyamihanda, graduates college with a Development Studies degree
April, 2015Luba (a Bantu ethnic group) people attacked a camp for displaced people, killing at least 30 people, sparking Twa pygmies to attack back in retaliation later on.
August 14, 201534 Luba's and Twa's were charged with crimes against humanity and genocide in a Congolese court, as a result of the attack in April, 2015 and the retaliation of the Twa people afterwards.
October 1st, 2015Representatives from Twa and Luba ethnic groups sign a peace treaty to end a conflict that has resulted in many mass massacres. They have agreed to be neutral and they would respect human rights.

2008Anthropologist Jerome Lewis and The Forest Trust (A group dedicated to promoting sustainable harvested and manufactured wood) launched a radio channel called Biso na Baso (Between us in Lingala) that is dedicated to smooth relations between the Bantus and Pygmies. More Here
March 1st, 2015Isaac Bacirongo, a Betembo Pygmy, publishes Still a Pygmy, talking about the violence he faced in his homeland, spreading awareness for the crisis.
May 13, 2015The UN Peace Keeping reports an uprise in Pygmy massacres in the southeast of the Congo. Dozens had been killed within the past week.
September 3rd, 2015Fighting resumes in the newly created Tanganyika province between the Batwas and Bantus. As of Janurary 10, 2016, 8 had been killed as a result. Mentioned here
Janurary 10, 2016Four ethnic Bantus has been charged with crimes againts humanity (Genocide by murder) over 2013 violent clashes in the DRC. The trial consisted of 32 Bantus and Pygmies. The four Bantu were sentenced with 15 years of jail. The other 28 involved were freed. More here
